di Laura Abet e Alberto Fontana, che racconta i primi dieci anni
del Centro Antidiscriminazione Franco Bomprezzi di LEDHA.

Un gradino all’ingresso di un museo. Un test di ammissione senza gli strumenti necessari per affrontarlo alla pari. Un congedo per assistere una figlia negato dall’Inps. Un contributo per la non autosufficienza riservato solo a chi risiede in Lombardia da almeno due anni. Le discriminazioni nei confronti delle persone con disabilità hanno molte forme, e spesso sono così radicate nelle regole e nelle prassi da passare inosservate.

“Disabilità e discriminazione: conoscere, riconoscere e agire” nasce per renderle visibili: il libro racconta dieci anni di lavoro del Centro Antidiscriminazione Franco Bomprezzi di LEDHA (2015-2025).

Vi invitiamo alla presentazione mercoledì 4 novembre alle 18, nella Sala Arena di Factory Plus, BASE Milano (via Bergognone 34, ingresso C, terzo piano).
L’ingresso è gratuito, ma è necessario prenotare.

Gli autori del libro, Laura Abet, avvocata e responsabile del Centro Antidiscriminazione Franco Bomprezzi di LEDHA, e Alberto Fontana, dirigente del terzo settore, dialogano con:

Intervengono anche Alessandra Locatelli, ministro per le Disabilità e Giuseppe Guzzetti, già presidente di Fondazione Cariplo e autore della prefazione, con un contributo. Porta la sua testimonianza Isabel Ananos, portavoce del gruppo di autorappresentanza di Anffas Nord Milano. Modera Dario Bolis, responsabile comunicazione di Fondazione Cariplo. L’incontro sarà sottotitolato.

Il libro

L’Italia ha una delle legislazioni più avanzate al mondo sui diritti delle persone con disabilità: dall’inclusione scolastica a quella lavorativa, dall’abbattimento delle barriere architettoniche alla vita indipendente. Eppure queste norme restano spesso sulla carta, perché non si traducono in azioni concrete.
Partendo dai casi seguiti dal Centro Antidiscriminazione, Laura Abet e Alberto Fontana affrontano cinque temi che considerano decisivi per la qualità della vita delle persone con disabilità: accessibilità, inclusione scolastica, assistenza e vita indipendente, discriminazione intersezionale e lavoro.
Il libro non è solo una raccolta di casi: usa il rispetto dei diritti delle persone con disabilità come metro per misurare la qualità della nostra democrazia. Come scrive Giuseppe Guzzetti nella prefazione, “il pregiudizio non si dissolve da solo”.
